Adult assessments are not covered by insurance, and are a significant financial investment. A comprehensive evalaution by a psychiatrist or psychologist can cost up to $2000. Given how financially inaccessible evaluations can be, I provide specific assessments for high masking adults that are not comprehensive psychological or neuropsychological evaluations. A minimum of 5-6 hours is spent completing the average autism assessment, while it takes 8-9 hours for a combined assessment.

A general breakdown of the cost for the assessments includes:

1-2 hours of evaluator time in administrative time including setting up the client chart, sending all documents, forms, and assessments, and analyzing & organizing the information gathered from the client
90-minutes of telehealth diagnostic interview with client (2 90-minute sessions for the combined assessment)
1-2 hours of report and recommendation compiling and writing (more for the combined assessment)
30-minute telehealth feedback session with client to review outcomes and recommendations and answer any questions

Can the assessment be used for accommodations for school, work, or high stakes testing? Both assessments are sufficient for seeking accommodations for work, school, and high-stakes testing (i.e. GRE, LSAT). Our assessment is not psychological or neuropsychological testing and is NOT sufficient for those seeking diagnosis for Social Security Disability Insurance OR for forensic evaluation purposes. It is important to note that a diagnosis does not mean that an institution will consider a person disabled under the law.

What are the Telehealth Assessment requirements?All telehealth diagnostic interview and results sessions will take place over Zoom. Additionally, the ADHD Computer test requires a computer or a laptop with a camera. Chromebooks and Tablets are not yet compatible.

Can I get medication?Ryanne Mitchell is an LPC and does not prescribe medication. However, if your assessment results in a provisional diagnosis of autism, ADHD or other co-occurring diagnoses that you may choose to treat medically, you should share your assessment results with your medical provider.

Are there payment plans? Can I get a refund?Full payment is due prior to appointment. No refunds will be given for late-cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows for intake appointment. You will be allowed to reschedule once with no penalty. Additional reschedules will require paying an $80 late-cancellation/no-show fee to re-start the assessment process. Arriving late to the appointment may require additional time to be scheduled to complete the intake, which will be billed at the current therapy intake rate of $160 per hour. More complex evaluations requiring extensive time reviewing records, additional assessments, or interview time may be subject to being billed at $160/hour beyond the evaluation cost. This will be discussed and mutually agreed upon prior to any additional steps being taken.

Am I guaranteed a diagnosis? You are not guaranteed a diagnosis. In order to receive a diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD, you need to meet the criteria set out in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5 (DSM-5). Recommendations may be made for other evaluations or professionals in the event that we determine what you need is beyond our scope.
