About the event

Is It Something I Said? Navigating Neurodiverse Relationships

Neurodivergence in adults is often overlooked, misunderstood, or misdiagnosed, leaving many clients to isolate or otherwise feel alienated while trying to address their mental health needs without accurate support, and this can wreak havoc on interpersonal relationships. This one-day training is designed to equip therapists with the knowledge and clinical tools to work confidently and compassionately with neurodivergent adult clients, including those with late-diagnosed Autism, ADHD, and common co-occurring conditions, learn ways to build lasting and safe relationships across neurotypes.

Through this in-depth overview, participants will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of current diagnostic criteria for Autism and ADHD

  • Learn about the double empathy problem across neurotypes and ways to bridge this gap
